Who has your ear ?

In the month of February,  as Gracious women , we spent the month focusing on hearing from God.

God has always been a God that speaks . He is intentional , indivual amd purposeful regarding His communication with us .
We see right from the beginning of scripture that :
1. He speaks ;
And God said,“Let there be light,” and there was light. God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.God calledthe light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.”And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day. ( Genesis 1:3)

2. The trinity communicate ( Father , Son and Holy Spirit)
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.  (Genesis 1:26)

3. He has an audible voice
Then the man and his wife heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the breeze of the day, and they hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. ( Genesis 3:8)

God also talks to us through dreams and visions.
In 1 Kings 3:4 ,it reads speaking of king Solomon “The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream,  and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”

We see that he also spoke to Peter through vision, in Acts 10: 10-13 we read ;  “while the meal was being prepared, he fell into a trance. He saw heaven openedand something like a large sheet being let down to earth by its four corners.  It contained all kinds of four-footed animals, as well as reptiles and birds.  Then a voice told him, “Get up, Peter. Kill and eat.”

We concluded and will  continue to mediate as we go on throughout the  rest of the year that God still does speak today and that He desires for us to be atune to His voice . We have made a resolute decions to continually position ourselves to hear from Him . We need Him , we desire His ways for our children , our Husbands, our calling , our work of our hands, our cities , our nations –  for all that encompasses us.

Can I encourage you to reflect on who or what has your ear . The truth is that what we give our ear to will inturn have our hearts , choices, decisions and essentially our life . Reflect on what or whom you are listening to :
• Social media
• Main stream media
• Other people
• Culture /traditions
• Religion
• Your own flesh/desires

• Are you  giving time to  the  word of God and time with Him throughout your day and devotion time or do other voices/opinions take precedence?

Are you being led by the voice of the Lord ?

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.” ( John 10:27-28)
